Cassia Elderkin

Cassia Elderkin discovered her love of language at eleven years old, scribbling her first poem in a horse corral beneath the summer stars. That moment — wild, quiet, and full of wonder — set her on a lifelong path of storytelling and inner exploration.

She began her professional life as a journalist in the Army National Guard before earning her B.A. in English and Creative Writing and her teaching credential at the University of California, Davis. She went on to complete her M.A. in English and Creative Writing at California State University, Sacramento, and has spent more than fifteen years teaching, mentoring, and igniting creativity in others. As the founder and facilitator of long-running community writing workshops in Folsom, California, she has guided hundreds of writers in discovering their voice.

Cassia is a certified and affiliated Amherst Writers & Artists facilitator — work she approaches with devotion, spaciousness, and a belief in the transformative power of the written word. She is currently at work on a mythopoetic novel that blends imagination, mysticism, and psychological depth.

In addition to her creative work, Cassia is a doctoral student at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she studies Eastern Mysticism, Western Esotericism, and depth psychology, weaving these traditions into her scholarship and into the evolving landscape of her writing and teaching life.

Cassia is also a sister of Mary, Founder of Wisdom Weekends at Star Fusion Ranch.
